FUN FRIDAY
Here we are at the end of another busy week. I can not believe it is Friday already! I hope you enjoy the creative and problem- solving activities that I have planned for today and manage to get outside in the sunshine too.

Can you remember all the tricky words from yesterday? Check to see! Remember to practise them in lots of different ways.

Go on to BBC Bitesize and watch the clip called “What should I do with my rubbish?”.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zrssgk7/articles/z9w26sg

Help your parents or carers to sort out the rubbish today. What colour of bins do you have at home? What do you put in the different coloured bins?

Play the free “Junk Jumble Recycling Material Game” on Twinkl.
https://www.twinkl.co.uk/go/resource/tg-ga-59-twinkl-green-week-junk-jumble-recycling-game

What can you build from old junk? Collect as many cardboard boxes, tubes, yoghurt pots, wool, string etc and have fun making or building something new! If you have big cardboard boxes or crates, try building something outside. You could make a rocket, a train, an ambulance, a monster or whatever other ideas you come up with.
Remember to post all your creations on Seesaw for me to see.

“Recycling with Emily” is a pairs game where you have to read the words and match them to the correct pictures. Emily is sorting through lots of different things that she has in her house. What can she recycle?

Now is a great time to go through all of your old clothes and toys. What can be sent to a charity shop or to be recycled?  Is there anyone else you know that could use something you are finished with? Is there anything that needs to go in the bin? Which bin would you put it in?

Lots of you said that you enjoyed “Oliver’s Vegetables” so I am sure that you will enjoy another story about him today. Listen to the story “Oliver’s Milkshake” which is on YouTube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmREiMAGwkU

Make sure that you listen carefully and then answer the questions about the story. This activity is on Seesaw. You can either write your answers or record your answers for me.

Have a go at making your own milkshake. What ingredients are you going to use? What equipment are you going to use? Post some photos on Seesaw to show me how you get on.
Can you describe your milkshake? There were lots of describing words used in the story that might help you.

This next video clip teaches us how milk gets from the farm to the shop. A baby calf is born too.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/geography-ks1-ks2-how-our-milk-gets-from-the-farm-to-the-shop/z444d6f

What is made from milk?

Do you buy your milk in plastic bottles? Wash them out and use them to make a game of skittles? You can write different numbers on the bottles and then add up your points if you manage to knock any over with a ball. This is a great way to practise addition of several numbers! You can write the adding sums out too. (You could also use the cardboard tubes from the inside of toilet rolls)

Make up a different game using some recycled materials that you have at home. I can not wait to see what you come up with.

Complete the “Farm Subtraction” sums that are on Seesaw or some pages in your subtraction workbooks.

Follow the link below to have some more fun milking a pretend cow!! This is a great hand strengthening activity that’s sure to get a few laughs too!

This activity is definitely best done outside!

Have another great day and enjoy the weekend with your families. I will see you back here on Monday.
Take care everyone.
