Welcome to Markinch Primary School's Website

Headteachers Welcome

Welcome to Markinch Primary School. School Motto: DREAM.BELIEVE.ACHIEVE

Our aim at Markinch Primary School and Nursery is for happy, successful children who all have the opportunity to achieve their full potential. We support children to become confident, independent, reflective and equip them with the skills to become responsible citizens and life long learners. My teaching colleagues and I are firmly of the opinion that school and parents must work together to ensure that children receive the best possible education. At Markinch, experience has shown that children do best when school and parents work together and we actively encourage parents to be involved in their children’s learning. We believe that parents can help extend our curriculum through their own interests and skills. If any of parents/carers have a particular interest or skill you would be willing to share with the children, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I fully appreciate that this website may not be able to answer all the questions that you would like to ask, in which case please phone the school to arrange a meeting with myself or a member of the Senior Leadership Team. We hope you and your child will enjoy the experiences offered at Markinch.

We are on the hunt for any wool or knitting needles that you may have at home and are willing to donate to the school. Sickness and Diarrhoea bug in school/nursery

We have a high number of pupils absent from nursery and school with a sickness and diarrhoea bug. Pupils need to have a clear 48 hours from the last time they were sick or had diarrhoea before returning to school or nursery. This is very important and hugely helps stop the spread of this bug.
