Good morning everyone.
I can’t believe it is Friday already. I hope you are keeping yourselves busy and enjoying this fabulous weather. Here are some fun STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) activities for you to choose from. These are based on our story “The Cautious Caterpillar” that we read yesterday.

A habitat is where an animal lives. It lives there because it can get everything it needs to stay alive. It can get food, water, air and shelter.
Design and make your own minibeast hotel. How many minibeasts can you get to come and stay in your garden? There is an activity on Seesaw with instructions to help you or follow this link.

Follow the link to learn all about “A woodland Habitat” and “An Urban Habitat” on Bitesize. Play the interactive games, complete the quizzes and have fun as you learn.

Complete the activity on Seesaw to match the mini beasts to their habitat.

A butterfly’s wings are symmetrical. Follow the link to have fun playing these games on Top Marks and learn all about symmetry at the same time. Start with the pictures, try the shapes and finally the patterns. This will also develop your technology skills.

If you enjoyed this, there is then a link that will take you on to a “Symmetry Sorting Game” which will explore vertical and horizontal lines of symmetry.
How many mini beasts can you find in your garden, at the park or in the woods? Record what kind of minibeasts you find and how many. Can you make up a table to show me your findings? You could make a picture graph, use tally marks or think of another way to record what you find.

Try some of these art and craft activities to make your own minibeasts. Take a photograph and show me all your art work on Seesaw.
