Thursday 23rd April
Thinking Thursday 😊
Hello P7b,It is another sunny day! Think it is to be toasty one today so be safe if you are out in the sun.
Task 1Â Spelling
This week we are doing various spellings as I have had a problem accessing the spelling lists we usually use. Choose from the chillie challenges below. Remember you just choose one colour so have a look to see which one is suitable to you.
Green – li – their, they’re and there
Their – belongs to the person
They’re – contraction of they and are
There – position of something
Orange - Wordsearches which focus on commonly misspelt words. After each individual wordsearch is the answers, so no peaking 😊
Red – li words that could be nouns or verbs
Have a look at the powerpoint and then complete the wordsearch
Task 2 Reading li – to use inferential skills to describe a character.
Using your reading book or a book you have recently read, complete the character grid. Understanding the characters in story gives you a fuller understanding of the plot of the story. You may have to use inferential comprehension skills to complete the grid. This means that you have to look to see if the author gives hints/clues about the appearance or personality of the character rather than telling you directly. Use the learning we did on the Nowhere Emporium to help you with this.
Task 3 li – to understand the meaning of words
Find words in your reading book or a newspaper or similar which you do not know the meaning for. Write a sentence saying what you think it means then ask an adult if you are correct, google the word or look in a dictionary.
Remember to always be the best version of yourself!!
