Hi P6/7,

Welcome back after what I hope has been a restful and fun weekend! Here we are starting week 9 of home learning. You are doing a great job – keep up the good work!

Remember that we will have a class meeting at 10am on Monday morning and a quiz on Thursday at 10am.

If you aren’t sure about something, just ask! I’m always happy to answer any questions. I’ll be available on Teams and by email throughout the day.

Happy Monday!

Mrs Muir 😊

Groups 1 and 2
Today, we are going to continue our focus on mental maths skills. This practice will increase your speed and general number skills.

Task 1a – mental maths
To get your brains warmed up I would like you to try the ‘warm up’ file. You will see that it starts at red (easiest) and moves along to pink (hardest). Work your way from left to right and complete as many of the questions as you can!

If you can’t print this out, you can complete the answers on paper or in your jotter.

Task 1b – mental maths
Your next task is to complete the ‘Ultimate times table challenge 3’. We are doing this weekly to see if your skills are improving so remember to check back to last week and see what your score and time were.

If you can’t print these off, don’t worry, just write out your answers on paper or in your jotter.

Task 1c – mental maths
Your final numeracy task today is to complete one of the ‘Mental Maths Challenges’. You can complete 5.1 or 6.1 (they are both on the same sheet) – give yourself a challenge! These should get you thinking. If you can’t print out the sheet you need, simply complete the answers on paper or in your jotter.
