Hi P6/7,

Welcome back after what I hope has been a restful and fun weekend! Here we are starting week 9 of home learning. You are doing a great job – keep up the good work!

Remember that we will have a class meeting at 10am on Monday morning and a quiz on Thursday at 10am.

If you aren’t sure about something, just ask! I’m always happy to answer any questions. I’ll be available on Teams and by email throughout the day.

Happy Monday!

Today, we are going to continue our focus on mental maths skills. This type of practice will strengthen your general number skills and your speed. ย

Task 1a – mental maths
To get your brains warmed up I would like you to try the ‘warm up’ file. You will see that it starts at red (easiest) and moves along to green (hardest). Work your way from left to right and complete as many of the questions as you can!

If you can’t print this out, you can complete the answers on paper or in your jotter.ย

Task 1b – mental maths
Next, I would like you to try this website - https://www.mathtrainer.org/ This will give you short, quickย  questions! Try to increase your speed and accuracy as you go.

Task 1c – mental maths
Your final numeracy task today is to complete the ‘Mental Maths Challenges’. This worksheet should get you thinking. If you can’t print out the sheet you need, simply complete the answers on paper or in your jotter.
