Good morning P6/7,

I hope you have had a good weekend and managed to fit in some sunshine, exercise, rest and fun! We are at the start of week two of this term now – you did a great job with your home learning last week. Well done!

Have a lovely day!

Mrs Muir 😊

Group 3
Welcome to Maths Monday! Today, we are learning more about money, how to add and subtract using money and how to give change correctly.

Task 1 – warm up!
Go to https://www.twinkl.co.uk/go/sign-in or search for Twinkl Go Login on google.
Once you get to this, enter XK8294. This will take you to a set of online numeracy activities which you can work through at your own pace.

Task 2
Watch these videos about using money and how to give change - https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/z8yv4wx/articles/zs3b2nb

Task 3
Complete the ‘Money matching’ activity where you need to count the coins and match them up with the correct amount.

Task 3
Complete one of the money chilli challenges – pick sensibly so that it is not too easy or too hard.

Task 4
Complete the ‘money challenge cards’. These are word problems so you will need to read the questions carefully.

Afternoon Learning
If you have finished the tasks by the afternoon slot, use the time to practise your times tables, spend 20 minutes on Sumdog or Number Gym or create a money poster.

Try a harder chilli challenge!

Find examples of money and prices – maybe in a book, magazine or adverts.

Try out the sudokus (attached on the app or in files)!

Extras
Today’s riddle – The more there is, the less you see. What is it?

*The answer to Friday’s puzzle – 27 + 13 = 40 and have a difference of 14 (27-13 = 14)

A joke to start off this week –
Why do we never tell jokes about pizzas?
They’re too cheesy!
