Thinking Thursday
VCOP
Today we will be revising all that we have learned about Vocabulary, Connective, Openers and Punctuation.Â
I have set up a selection of activities for you to complete on Education City. Try as many as you can. (On Education City, connectives are called conjunctions)
Phonics/Spelling – Your individual group tasks have been set up on seesaw.
Start by practicing your spelling words set last week. Have someone read them out to you and write them in the back of your jotter. Think about the spelling sounds you have been learning – say the word slowly and write down the sounds you hear, then read it back slowly and ask yourself if it sounds right.
This week’s spelling words have been set out below along with an activity which has been attached.
Consonants – over the next 2 weeks you are practicing all of the sounds we have learned so far, there are a lot of them which is why I have split it over 2 weeks. Â
Vowels – you will be learning about the alternative spelling of the long i sound (pronounced eye)
Syllables – you have no rule or sounds to learn this week. Instead you will be looking at how to spot and correct misspelled words.
