Good morning everyone, I hope you have all enjoyed getting back into learning at home!  😊

Thinking Thursday
Today we will be focusing on literacy skills and spelling.  I have set out a learning task for both.  I have also included some extension tasks for you to complete if you chose to; you could do none, one, two or all three of them, the choice is yours!  😊

Task 1 – VCOP
We are continuing to learn about how to use apostrophes to make words contract (smaller) and expand (bigger).

Watch the video below which will remind you of how we use apostrophes to contract and expand words.   Once you have watched it, complete the tasks and quizzes at the bottom of the page. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zvwwxnb/articles/zcyv4qt

Chilli Challenge – Choose 1 of the 3 worksheets attached to practice using apostrophes in your writing.

Task 2 – Phonics/spelling
Below are you spelling lists for this week, practice them in your spelling jotter as we usually do in class by copying them out then read, cover write and check each word at least 4 times.

Extension tasks:

Task 1 – Log onto the Oxford owl website and chose a book you have never read before.  Write a review of the book, explaining what you liked or did not like about it, what your favourite part was and if you would recommend it to a friend.

Task 2 – Use the spelling challenge cards we use in class to practice you spelling words for this week. (rainbow, pyramid, backwards, in a silly sentence, in a sensible sentence)

Task 3 – Can you create your own phonics or spelling game? Try to create a game or worksheet related to your spelling/phonics words for this week.  Ask someone at home to help or challenge them to complete it once you are done.

Have a great day everyone 😊
