Happy Monday everyone and welcome to week 5!

I hope you had a lovely weekend and are looking forward to another fantastic week of online learning. 😊

Maths Monday
We are continuing with our fractions learning today, practicing what we have been learning so far and moving on to learning about equivalent fractions.

Begin by heading over to seesaw and watch the video where I recap on our previous learning and explain our new learning.

Then I have attached 4 separate sheets for you to work through. Remember you do not have to do all of the worksheets, think about the self-evaluation you completed last week and what area of fractions you want to practice. Take you time and stop if things get too tricky.

Sheet 1 – Practice your reading and writing fractions.  We have had lots of different practice doing this over the past few weeks, just ask yourself what each number of the fraction means before you write it. The top number (the numerator) is how many pieces have been shaded and the bottom number (the denominator) is how many pieces the shape has been cut in to.

Sheet 2 – Practice ordering fractions. We covered this last week. If you are still unsure you can draw out the fractions in a shape to help you see which is bigger and smaller. Notice at the bottom on the page, it asks you to then put the fractions into a number line.

Sheet 3 and 4 – This is our new learning for this week.  We will be learning about equivalent fractions.  Make sure you watch the video on Seesaw before you try to complete these!

Extension Tasks
Over the next few weeks, we will begin to look back over our Numeracy learning in P2/3. I have set a selection of games to remind ourselves what we have been learning.

Use the link to go to Twinkl Go https://www.twinkl.co.uk/go and use the code KF6540 to access the games.

Lots of games can also be found online through Education City and Topmarks.

Have a great day, stay safe smiley
