I hope you all had a lovely weekend. This week is a little shorter as we have a holiday Friday!
We all love a holiday Friday!!
MATHS MONDAY
We are going to continue learning about fractions for a few more weeks. Can you start to spot fractions around you in everyday life? At mealtimes especially.
This maths topic lands itself well in the kitchen, so feel free to get cooking and baking to practise!
Task one
Fractions on a number line.
- Watch the fractions on a number line song.
- Log into Education city and complete the fractions on a number line activity (Unfortunately this one is not tablet friendly!) Â
- Have a go at making your own fraction number lines. Start with halves and see if you can count all the way to 10. Then can you try quarters? thirds? etc.
Task two
Task two
Fractions of a quantity
- Use objects around your house (lego, dried pasta, beads etc) to help you work out fractions of a quantity.
Use equal groupings or arrays to organise your groups.
(See picture attached below! – I have added an array video to Education city too)
Log on to Education city and complete the ‘Fractions of Quantity’ activities.
Make up your own questions. Or complete the worksheet attached on Seesaw.
I hope you enjoy todays tasks!
